• Hip Hop Icons Erick Sermon and David Strickland Launch NFT Collection

  • Erick Sermon, an iconic American rapper, musician and member of the hip-hop duo EPMD, will make his debut in the NFT space in collaboration with artist and record producer David Strickland and the NFT Agency.

    The NFT series celebrates Sermon’s awe-inspiring and legendary hip-hop career. It will feature six NFT pieces with original artwork designed by Strickland, who is widely known for his more than two decades of behind-the-scenes work on iconic hip-hop and R&B records. He also won three international local hip hop awards for his critically acclaimed 2020 album, Spirit Of Hip Hop. The NFT artwork in the series highlights some of the most brilliant and memorable moments of Sermon’s career as an EPMD member, Def Squad founder and solo artist.

    Both Sermon and Strickland have released new music, and the NFT series will also promote Strickland’s latest single, “Messenger”. The song was produced with Sermon, Toronto rap veterans Saukrates and Outlaw by Nature. Additionally, Sermon recently joined EPMD bandmates Parrish Smith and Eminem on Nas’ ode to the iconic group, “EPMD 2” – one of the most hilarious tracks from the latter’s acclaimed 2021 album King’s Disease II.

    The launch of Sermon’s NFT series will take place on October 20 on the Crypto.com NFT Marketplace. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Indian Boarding School Survivors Association.
