• Four-time NBA Champion Shaquille O’Neal to Release NFT Collection

  • Four-time NBA champion and serial entrepreneur Shaquille O’Neal is partnering with Ethernity Chain to release his own line of non-forgeable tokens (NFTs), the company announced Monday.

The release, called “Shaquille O’Neal: The Eras of Dominance Collection,” will run on Ethernity, the second layer of Ether, and will be available on October 15.

The collection features five different NFTs depicting scenes from the three cities where O’Neal played during his career – Los Angeles, Orlando and Miami.

Purchasers will have the chance to win a custom pair of size 22 shoes and a personal video call with O’Neal himself, as well as a table at the O’Neal Music Festival.

Ethernity has previously collaborated with NFL running back Ezekiel Elliot and famed boxer-turned-politician Manny Pacquiao on an athlete collaboration NFT collection.

O’Neill, who told us in September that he was waiting to “fully understand what [cryptocurrency] is” before investing, entered the NFT space last week when he purchased two Creature World NFTs and used one of them as his profile picture on Twitter.

In late August, Warriors point guard Stephen Curry purchased a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT for 55 ETH and used it as his Twitter avatar.

Back in May, Shaq did give a shout out to Ethernity’s Muhammad Ali, which could be a prelude to his current partnership.
