• Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins’ upcoming film to premiere on NFT platform

  • Oscar-winning actor Anthony Hopkins has broken the internet by announcing that his next film, Zero Distance, will be released through Vuele, a new non-fakeable token (NFT) distribution and viewing platform. Zero Distance will premiere on Vuele via multiple NFT drops starting September 24. Anthony Hopkins’ next film after winning an Oscar last spring is said to be “the world’s first feature film NFT campaign.”

Enderby Entertainment Studios’ film Zero Contact is gaining further attention for being produced in 17 different countries, entirely virtually during the 2020 global pandemic. Zero Contact revolves around the five disciples of the late founder and tech giant Finley Hart, played by Anthony Hopkins.

These characters are located in five far-flung corners of the world trying to stop a “catastrophic event that will kill the planet.” Anthony Hopkins’ late character in the film instructs his disciples to stop his creation, a time machine, from wreaking havoc on the Earth’s surface. Also, the thriller becomes more intense as a mysterious man begins to hunt down members of the group while they come up with a plan to save the planet.

Hollywood jumps on the NFT wagon

Zero Contact may be running the first feature film NFT campaign, however, NFT is not a new concept to Hollywood. Marvel Entertainment also recently announced its latest NFT line featuring tokenized Spider-Man and Captain America collectibles. In partnership with VeVe, Marvel Entertainment unveiled its original Marvel Mightys collection in August as part of its “Marvel Month” celebration.

Even Entourage producer Rob Weiss confirmed producing and directing the first cryptocurrency TV show, “Hold On for Dear Life.” The series will revolve around the current raging trend of NFTs. Hold On for Dear Life revolves around the main character Mel, who is a young tech founder. Mel launches an unforgeable token (NFT) named after her best friend Aveer, who has gone missing. Mel and her group of underdog friends are shown fighting against centralized systems to bring about inevitable changes in the market and the way people live with the power of decentralized cryptocurrencies.
