• Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao launches NFT range on Ethernity

  • As the NFT market continues to boom, boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has partnered with Rikognition to launch a line of Non-Counterfeitable Tokens (NFT), a certified NFT program, on Ethernity.

The centerpiece of the famous boxer turned politician and philanthropist’s collection is a “highly realistic portrait,” named after his popular nickname “PacMan,” which will be a one-of-a-kind, limited edition digital art piece.

Describing the piece, Rikognition said it is intended to “convey the essence of Pacquiao as a man who overcame incredible odds but never lost his spirit and heart,” adding.

The piece is inspired by Pacquiao’s career, in which moments in time can feel fleeting yet last for eternity.

Pacquiao is known for being one of the greatest boxers of all time, winning gold medals in multiple weight classes. He also donates to charity fairly frequently and has served in the Philippine Senate since 2016.

The winner of the NFT auction will receive two tickets to Pacquiao’s fight with Yordenis Ugas in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Ethernity team will “ensure immediate digital delivery of the tickets to the winner.”

The boxing legend’s NFT series will also include trading cards on his behalf. Pacquiao has apparently been involved in the cryptocurrency space in the past, as in 2019 he launched a commodity-backed cryptocurrency.

The NFT auction comes amidst a booming market. Earlier this month, leading NFT marketplace OpenSea outpaced leading decentralized exchange Uniswap in ethereum usage, spending more than $1.9 million in gas on transaction fees.
