• Cricket NFT platform Rario goes live on Polygon

  • Rario, an officially licensed cricketing non-fungible token startup built on the Polygon blockchain, has announced its integration with Polygon Studios, Polygon’s NFT platform.

    Polygon Studios is an NFT-focused gaming and meta hub that was launched last month by Polygon, an Indian ethereal extension platform, to promote Web 3.0 gaming and drive mainstream adoption of NFT. It is backed by a $100 million fund and has partnered with top projects including Decentraland, Opensea, Sandbox, Somnium Space, and Decentral Games.Polygon Studios claims to have over 300 games and NFT decentralized applications.

    Indian startup Rario enables cricket fans to collect and trade officially licensed cricket memorabilia as NFT. it has partnered with several international cricket leagues, including the Caribbean Premier League and the Lanka Premier League. It has also partnered with cricket stars such as former Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan, South African cricketer Faf Du Plesis, Bangladeshi cricketer Shakib Al Hasan and Smriti Mandhana of the Indian national women’s cricket team.

    Cricket is the second largest sport in the world after football and has around 2.5 billion fans worldwide, with India being one of the largest markets, which shows the potential of cricket-related NFTs.

It seems that Lario is aiming to become the Sorare of cricket.Sorare is making inroads with football NFTs, recently partnering with Goldin Auction to offer digital trading cards of Belgian and French national footballers.
