• Video game giant EA wants to explore blockchain and NFTs

  • According to a recent job posting on LinkedIn, EA Sports, owned by video game giant Electronic Arts, is looking for a cryptocurrency-savvy senior brand director for its competitive gaming division.

    The company is exploring opportunities in blockchain and non-forgeable tokens (NFTs).

    We set the pace for EA’s investments in game subscriptions, our PC storefronts and platforms, competitive gaming (including FIFA , Apex Legends and Madden NFL), and new business opportunities including fantasy sports, blockchain and NFTs.

    EA is looking for potential candidates with at least 10 years of experience in brand development, marketing and audience growth.

    Whoever gets the job will be responsible for hiring a team of brand directors for games like FIFA and Apex Legends, and leading EA’s marketing budget.

    Last week, YouTube’s head of gaming Ryan Wyatt tweeted that he was bullish on NFTs.

    Amazon and Walmart are also rumored to be looking for cryptocurrency experts.
