• McDonald’s China debuts NFT

  • To celebrate the 31st anniversary of its entry into the Chinese market, McDonald’s China unveiled its first NFT called the “Giant Magic Formula”. the headquarters building in Shanghai also opened 31 years ago.

    This is the first of 188 NFTs the company plans to give to its employees and customers in China later.” The “Giant Tesseract” was made in the shape of the new headquarters building on the west coast of Shanghai.

    As a result, McDonald’s China has become the first restaurant brand in the country to launch its non-fakeable tokens, according to CEO Zhang Jiayin. New fashion trends and cutting-edge technology have always been important to McDonald’s, he added.

    “At this special moment, we share McDonald’s innovation, digital and trendy art with our employees and consumers in the form of NFT.”

    The NFT is a symbol of McDonald’s values – service, tolerance, integrity, community and family – as well as love, technology and trends, the website said.

    In early September, McDonald’s in El Slavador went a step further than the launch of NFT and began accepting bitcoin as the country adopted BTC as legal tender.
