• 4 NFT-based play-to-earn (P2E) games to watch in 2022

  • Monetization for gamers in the form of cryptocurrency and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) is one of the most exciting gaming developments recently.

Since play-to-earn (P2E) games usually have crypto and NFTs as integral parts of their system, they possibly raise the stakes and excitement.

Furthermore, in-game earnings could be used to buy new characters, weapons, and even real estate in the gaming world. Selling or trading all of these assets could be a real possibility further enhancing the excitement factor.

The following four projects should be on the list of gaming and crypto enthusiasts in 2022.

    1 Reign of Terror

Reign of Terror is a P2E blockchain game on Solana developed by Red Door Digital, it is primarily based on cyberpunk lore. The game will intertwine DeFi staking mechanics and NFTs throughout the world, with crafting mechanics, land purchase, and more.

Players will also be able to wager war in which NFTs can be stolen, ransomed, or burned. The game is announced to be released in beta sometime in Q2 of 2022.

    2 Project Hive

Project Hive is a third-person shooter game, players will take the role of a survivor stranded in the destroyed mining facility Hive, with nine playable levels.

In-game items will all be NFTs which will allow trading without limits. Players will receive HGT and SOL tokens for various activities such as territory wars, PVP, and PVE battles as well as for creating and joining clans. The demo is scheduled to be released in Q2 of 2022.

    3 Breach.gg

Breach.gg represents a unique game platform where the social medium is gamified, online avatars become gaming Metaverse avatars. In essence, Breach is a game, metaverse, content hub, social media site, and gaming platform.

What’s interesting, the game platform will host third-party on-chain games on their multiverse allowing players to own each asset they mint or earn.

The launch of this promising project is scheduled for September when the gaming platform goes live. Browser extensions were also announced which will serve matchmaking purposes to ensure faster and smoother matchmaking.

    4 Neon District

Neon District, represents a role-playing game (RPG) with a goal to collect characters and in-game items in a dystopian world with a strong cyberpunk thematic.

The game will use Ethereum and Matic blockchain technology, offering ways to store and trade NFTs.

In summary, the above-mentioned projects should probably command the attention of crypto and gaming enthusiasts.

If the projects take off it will represent another breakthrough in blockchain gaming which will provide another door for gamers to experience the proliferating metaverse.
