The Burning Man project will bring an artistic interpretation of its own brand to Sotheby’s.
Entitled “Boundless Space. The Possibilities of Burning Man,” the series celebrates the festival’s artistic vision, drawing inspiration from the free spirit and progressive style of this oft-talked-about phenomenon. These artworks showcase expressions of creativity from this close-knit community.
Coming down to the hammer are multicultural artworks from individuals that were inspired by this annual event. There will be an eclectic array of sculptures, newsletters, experiences, mutant vehicles and NFTs.
Burning Man intends to give back to the arts community all proceeds raised during the sale. Thus, supporting participating artists and funding future efforts to help fund further civic engagement programs.
The online auction will coincide with a public exhibition at Sotheby’s New York Gallery. Both will begin on September 30 and run through October 8, with active bidding for items beginning at 11 a.m. on the first day.
