    CryptoPunks has seen a spike in activity over the past few days. More specifically, in the last twenty-four hours. The popular NFT program saw a hit in CryptoPunks sales between Friday and Saturday morning, with a 667% increase in volume.

    The recent increase in volume saw the program clear the next largest NFT program, Axie Infinity (AXS), with nearly double the volume.

    Friday’s big sale

    Friday saw some big NFT sales, with the biggest sale being CryptoPunk #5217. the NFT sold for 2,250 ETH, or $5.45 million. “This better not be Tom Brady or Michael Jordan”, American entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk joked on Twitter about the sale.Vaynerchuk also tweeted that “nothing is more important than cryptocurrency”.

    According to the community, Vaynerchuk was the second-largest buyer of Friday’s sale, with With CryptoPunk #2140 selling for 1,600 ETH, or $3.76 million. Vaynerchuk’s purchase means it is now the fourth most expensive CryptoPunk sale, while CryptoPunk#5217 became the third most expensive sale, according to the data.

    In the last twenty-four hours, CryptoPunks have accounted for 13 of the top 15 sales in NFT. The lowest priced of the 15 NFTs was CryptoPunk #8010 at 135 ETH. both CryptoPunk #8472 and #3831 sold for well over $1 million.

    The price of CryptoPunks continues to climb as celebrities and entrepreneurs continue to buy NFT. Recently, music artist Steve Aoki changed his Twitter profile to CryptoPunk, most likely his own.
