Dolce & Gabbana’s first collection of non-forgeable tokens (NFT), Collezione Genesi, took in about $5.65 million in a closing sale.
The set of nine NFTs was launched on the luxury marketplace UNXD, which is built on Polygon, the second layer of Ether.
Bidding for the series, which began on September 28 and ends today, was designed by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana themselves for UNXD.
The “Glass Set” NFT fetched 351.384 ETH, slightly over $1 million at current prices, while the two versions of the “Dream Dress” fetched over $500,000 each.
The “Golden Impossible Jacket” sold for just under $300,000.
The winner of each item received not only an NFT, but also a physical version of the item and an exclusive opportunity to attend a Dolce & Gabbana event.
UNXD has also partnered with Polygon to launch a new $10 million “culture fund” designed to expand the use of NFT in the fashion industry.
