GhostMarket has announced upcoming support for two new blockchains and an upcoming governance token that will live on each.GhostMarket founder Vincent Geneste participated in the project’s first AMA on Discord to discuss progress and next steps.
Over the next six weeks, multi-chain NFT marketplace and explorer GhostMarket will add support for Ethereum and Avalanche blockchains.Geneste also noted that the development team will look into adding Tezos, Wax, Solana and Flow blockchains to the platform.
According to Geneste, the team will launch a utility token, GM, which will be used for rewards and other purposes.GhostMarket users will be able to use GM to pay for things like minting coins or trading NFTs.GM will also be used for governance purposes, such as voting on new tokens that can be used to trade NFTs. Other use cases may include using GMs to promote NFTs or to gain access to special artist placements based on GM holdings.
GM tokens will exist as an alternative token standard on the various blockchains supported by GhostMarket (i.e., NEP-17, ERC-20.) GhostMarket will also host an exchange interface on the platform, so users can seamlessly exchange GMs between different chains.
A portion of the proceeds from GM token sales will reward early adopters of the GhostMarket platform, and Geneste said a pool of funds equivalent to $100,000 has been set aside for this purpose.
Looking ahead, more information on the token sale is expected to be shared in the coming weeks. The GhostMarket team aims to scale and is looking for a senior front-end developer, a systems operations engineer and a mobile app engineer.
Currently, GhostMarket is a multi-chain platform. It does not support casting NFTs on one chain and migrating that NFT to another chain.Geneste notes that this cross-chain functionality will be available on GhostMarket in the next eight weeks.
