• Iron Maiden unveils NFT of the band’s iconic mascot Eddie

  • Heavy metal gods Iron Maiden have teamed up with Funko and the WAX blockchain to release a premiere NFT collectible set. The result is a series of cartoonish incarnations of the band’s iconic mascot Eddie.

    Later this month, Funko, creators of the fan collection, will release a set of digital assets featuring Iron Maiden, representing the first musical artist in the Funko series to cross over into the NFT space. There will be 44 versions of the band’s digital villains for fans to collect.

    The new Eddie collection comes in packs of 5 and 15 Pops! Priced at $9.99 and $29.99 respectively. Regular consumers can purchase 18,000 standard packs and 60,000 premium packs with a $30 purchase limit per transaction. In addition, Funko will utilize WAX’s patented “virtual in real life (vIRL)” technology. With this in mind, certain combinations of assets and assets can be exchanged for physical items.

    Iron Maiden’s digital efforts will launch exclusively on WAX’s website on September 30 at 11 a.m. PT and will provide fans with an additional channel to connect with their favorite rock stars.

    Eddie has represented the band for the past 40 years, ever since the release of the band’s first album, Iron Maiden. He has been the subject of many spin-off projects, including a series of graphic novels and a video game.
