Kobe Bryant’s legacy will live on in digital form as the KB24 NFT project has revealed the official release date for their NFT shopping cart collection, which is inspired by the late NBA icon. The press release states that the release date for the collection is October 8th.
The project has received strong support from several NBA stars, including Nerlens Noel, Dwight Howard, Metta World Peace, and Kenny Smith.Commenting on the developments, Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard said.
“I’m amazed at how quickly the KB24 community has grown in such a short period of time. I’m excited to get more involved in the NFT space, which is a movement of great significance in the arts community. It’s exciting to be able to support Mamba and the Mambasita Foundation!”
Details of the NFT collection
All proceeds from the sale of the NFT collection will benefit the Mamba and Mambasita Sports Foundation, which was created in honor of Kobe and Gianna Bryant. The KB24 project is essentially a collection of 10,000 NFTs that are algorithmically generated and exist on the blockchain. Each NFT in the collection has its own unique properties and is divided into eight different categories.
Each NFT will have an initial value of 0.08 ETH, or approximately $250, and newly minted NFTs will have a price equal to the price of their NFTs.Mamba and Mambacita will receive funding from the NFT project through the initial sale of the NFTs. If all 10,000 NFTs are sold on the first day, the project will generate $2.5 million.
Looking to change the NFT space
Andy treys, one of the co-founders of the KB24 NFT project, commented in an interview that it wants to change the NFT space.
“We want to change the NFT space. the NFT community has a lot of room to give back to charities and make the world a better place. We’re not doing this for fame and fortune, we’re doing it because we want to extend Kirby’s legacy into the digital realm forever.”
NFT creators will also receive royalties from each sale, as well as from each subsequent sale of the NFT, and from future resales. A 10% fee will be collected on each sale of the KB24 NFT and will be donated to the Mamba and Mambasita Foundation. The NFT project is expected to generate over $50 million in royalties that will be donated to the Foundation.
