• Top NBA stars to make NFTs live debut during Summer League

  • After conquering the NBA, Dapper Labs’ Non-Forgible Token (NFT) trading card platform is making its way to the summer league in Las Vegas.

Popular NFT marketplace, NBA Top Shot, has announced it will be minting and selling a new collection of moments during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The NFTs cast during Summer League will showcase noteworthy and exciting moments from the three-day tournament, Aug. 8-10. These NFTs will be available for purchase exclusively at Top Shot Kiosk at Thomas & Mack Center, Section 111.

Each moment will be available for pre-order for $5. NBA Top Shot will let collectors know in advance which games the NFTs will be featured in prior to tip-off. A minimum of 1,000 copies of each NFT will be made, maybe more depending on pre-orders. Each collector will be able to snag 10 NFTs per day of the event. Each of the NBA’s 30 teams signed up to play in the league and will receive the NFT treatment.

The sale will mark the first time in Top Shot history that fans will be able to purchase the games they watch in person at the arena. In a tweet on the topic, Top Shot said, “For the first time ever, Top Shot collectors will have the ability to purchase a moment at the game and receive a moment from a game they saw in person.”

The moments selected as collectibles are not just the first of the 2021 season, they are also part of Dapper Labs’ new Fandom tier. The Fandom tier will fall somewhere between the lowest tier, the regular tier and the rare tier. In addition, non-NFT merchandise from Top Shot and Dapper Labs will be available for purchase.

Not only will NFTs be available for sale, but Top Shot will also be giving away 8 VIP packages that will send winners to summer leagues and offer a ton of extras. All you have to do is complete the challenge in the app and put your name in the hat. For example, completing the 2021 NBA Playoffs challenge earns you a spot in the tournament, while completing the “And Then There Were Four” challenge earns you five spots.
