• NFT Marketplace’s Rarible Launches Messaging Capabilities

  • Rarible.com, a marketplace for non-forgeable tokens (NFT), has launched a direct messaging feature that allows users and creators to communicate using cryptocurrency wallet addresses rather than social network usernames.

The messaging app helps users of the ethereum-based platform communicate NFT sales and connects creators with their fans and community, the company said.

“The overall goal is to grow communication in the cryptocurrency space,” Alex Salnikov, co-founder and head of product at Rarible, told us in an interview.” The smaller goal is to specifically facilitate communication within the NFT space. nft is all about forming communities.”

The messenger includes some features familiar to messaging apps, including showing when users are online and providing instant message notifications. However, users will only be able to message their followers on Rarible to say they’d like to get in touch.

Rarible will initially launch the messaging service to a limited number of launch partners and influencers. The company plans to release a standalone messaging app in the future.

In June, Rarible closed a $14.2 million Series A round of funding. This comes just over four months after the company raised $1.75 million in seed funding.
