• Snoop Dogg Is Selling 1,000 NFT Passes For Private Ether Metaverse Parties

  • Earlier this week, rapper and entertainer Snoop Dogg dropped a bombshell by revealing that he is the man behind Cozomo de’ Medici, a cryptocurrency Twitter personality and serious NFT collector with an ethereum wallet full of collectibles worth over $17 million. Now, he’s diving headfirst into the world of cryptocurrency.

Today, Snoop Dogg announced that he has partnered with The Sandbox, an upcoming ethereum-based metaspace game that lets users customize and share experiences in a 3D world.

Snoop will have a custom themed environment in the game, including a mansion, playable Snoopy avatars, and plenty of cannabis-themed imagery. There are also plans for more NFTs, as well as in-game concerts seen in the trailer below.

Snoop first teased the news on Wednesday night, encouraging his Twitter followers to “follow the wallet.” Checking out the Cozomo de’ Medici wallet on the OpenSea Marketplace revealed the Snoop Dogg Private Party Pass, an NFT created by The Sandbox.

In total, only 1,000 NFT Party Passes will be released, 650 of which are available for purchase on The Sandbox’s Marketplace. Another 212 will be awarded to those who purchase the LAND Lot NFT from the upcoming Snoop LAND sale, and the rest will be given away in an airdrop.Snoop has already given some away via the Cozomo Twitter account.

“I’m always looking for new ways to connect with fans,” Snoop said in a press release, “and what we’re creating in the sandbox is the future of virtual parties, NFT drops and exclusive concerts.” We’ll have a fresh set of Dogg-style NFTs that players can integrate into their gaming experience, taking this online experience to a new level for sure.”

Snoop Dogg joins a long list of brands and collaborators working with The Sandbox, including The Walking Dead, Atari, Gemini’s Winklevoss Twins, and the popular Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT series. The Sandbox plans to launch a public alpha test later this year, allowing users to first experience the 3D space, which Rand’s NFT owners can customize, monetize, and share with other players.

An NFT is like a deed of ownership for a rare digital item – in this case, one of 1,000 passes to a private party planned in the world of sandbox gaming, as well as a 3D avatar that users can control in the game.

An analysis of Snoop’s NFT wallet through DappRadar’s portfolio tool revealed a collection worth over $17 million, with a primary focus on Ether NFTs. The biggest highlights include nine very valuable CryptoPunks, one of which is estimated to be worth $4.6 million by itself.

Snoop also holds a number of Art Blocks NFTs, including pieces from the Chromie Squiggles and Fragments of an Infinite Field series. In addition, he holds a number of Rare Pepes – early NFTs that were originally released on the Bitcoin-based Counterparty platform. They are unofficial NFTs inspired by illustrator Matt Furie’s iconic Pepe memes, and he has targeted other unauthorized Pepe-derived NFT projects this year.
