Solana-based wallet SolFlare has released a mobile version of its dApp-enabled wallet.
SolFlare is now available on mobile
SolFlare has announced the launch of the mobile version of its dApp-based wallet.
Notably, this release makes SolFlare the first wallet in the Solana ecosystem to have a mobile version that offers full support for all of Solana’s major features.
SolFlare is available for download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The mobile version of SolFlare will provide users with all the features of its web version and browser extension.
SolFlare mobile will allow Solana users to seamlessly store, and exchange SOL and SPL tokens, credit Solana-based tokens, and send non-forgeable tokens (NFTs) directly from their phones.
Despite the rapid growth of the cryptocurrency industry, it is difficult to have mobile cryptocurrency wallets that support the DeFi protocol and NFT outside of the ethereum ecosystem. Even the existing Solana-based wallets offer little beyond token transfers, thus hindering the growth of the Solana ecosystem.
It is well known that fully functional mobile cryptocurrency wallets are key to increasing user participation in the ecosystem of a particular smart contract platform. Consider the case of MetaMask, for example, whose user base has skyrocketed following the recent release of a mobile version of its wallet.
For the uninitiated, SolFlare is an unhosted digital wallet designed specifically for the Solana blockchain.SolFlare holds the honor of being one of Solana’s most popular browser-based wallets, and with the mobile release just around the corner, Solflare is expected to strengthen its grip on the Solana wallet.
SolFlare is currently servicing 22% of the circulating SOL supply, worth over $16 million at current market prices.
What sets SolFlare apart from its competitors is that it is the only Solana-based wallet that allows users to view, bet on and send visual and audible NFTs. The same functionality is ready to be offered in a mobile-friendly version of SolFlare.
The SolFlare community is committed to providing its users with a seamless wallet experience that combines the intuitiveness of its desktop wallet with the convenience of a mobile app.
In addition, SolFlare Mobile is expected to add support for hardware wallets, WalletConnect, and soon a local token exchange feature.
Commenting on the development, Filip Dragoslavic, co-founder of SolFlare, said.
“We believe that opening the Solana ecosystem to mobile users will be a game-changing adoption. More and more cryptocurrency users are becoming mobile-first every year, and we believe that making Solana an easy experience for these users is key to continuing its explosive growth.”
