One of the leading blockchain startups, Spielworks, recently announced its integration with the eco-friendly Worldwide Asset eXchange (WAX) blockchain network. Because of this, countless games and services built on WAX are now compatible with Spielworks’ Wombat wallet.
Today, it’s no secret that non-forgeable tokens (NFTs) have generated public interest in digital art sales. The industry has amassed millions of dollars, but the technology behind it made its way into the gaming industry back in 2015. Some projects stood out from others, such as CryptoKitties and Axie Infinity – the first NFT game to reach $1 billion in sales. Gamers and cryptocurrency enthusiasts alike were immediately hooked on NFT games, so much so that half of the world’s cryptocurrency wallets are reportedly associated with blockchain-based games.
With this in mind, Spielworks is pushing NFT to hit the gaming world by expanding the integration of its Wombat wallet, which Spielworks’ team says is used by more than 1.1 million gamers. WAX, on the other hand, is proud to have a user base of over 6 million – with around 60 million NFTs being minted in its network.
Moreover, with the integration of the two, Wombat Wallet users will have the opportunity to play WAX-based games such as Uplift, a Minecraft-powered metaverse, Prospectors, an extensive multiplayer real-time strategy set in the Wild West, and finally, R-Planet, an elemental combo game with high-end GameFi capabilities. In addition to this, users can also enjoy other services offered by WAX, such as the BluDAC betting service and the NeftyBlocks NFT marketplace.
CEO of Spielworks – Adrian Krion commented.
NFT gaming is clearly here to stay. The popularity of blockchain-powered games means we must work to make the industry more sustainable and socially responsible. With the WAX integration, we’re doing just that, while also bringing more top-notch NFT games and projects to our users.
