The distinguished carbon-neutral blockchain company WAX has partnered with the World Series of Poker (WSOP) to produce some of the rarest Texas Hold’em collectibles in the world.
Since its inception in 1970, the WSOP has become one of the most prestigious gambling events on the planet, giving hope to non-sporting types around the globe. That popularity has now crossed over into the NFT realm, where the WSOP has partnered with WAX to offer some ultra-rare 1/1 digital collectibles.
Starting at 1 p.m. ET on November 17, a total of six auctions will take place, arriving on Mondays and Wednesdays until December 6. All told, these six NFTs include iconic moments from some of the WSOP’s most amazing tournaments, with the eventual winners walking away with millions of dollars in prize money. Now, collectors can own a piece of this poker tournament history.
Each “Champion Moments Gallery” NFT features incredible video footage of some of the greatest poker players of all time, including Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan, Scotty Nguyen and many more. In addition, Chris Moneymaker’s major tournament win in 2003 kicks off the entire event.
In order to participate in the event, interested parties must have a WAX wallet full of WAXP dollars and then bid on these poker-related desirables. Each bid will be placed in 10% increments, with the highest bidder winning at the end of the auction.
